World Cup - Del Bosque: I want Llorente back in Spain squad

Fernando Llorente has been told he is a key part of Vicente Del Bosque's plans for Spain's 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Speaking after a 3-1 friendly win over Uruguay in Qatar Wednesday, Del Bosque voiced his hope that the towering forward can get back to his best when he joins Juventus from Athletic Bilbao under freedom of contract at the end of the season.

Llorente has scored seven goals in 21 games for his country, but did not feature during Spain's successful defence of their European Championship trophy last summer despite being part of the squad.

“I don’t want to do without him for the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign,” said Del Bosque.

“I want him to do really well when he joins Juventus because I consider him to be a fundamental player for our journey.”
