Victoria Park Live Site - The Games Venue Guide

Victoria Park is one of three venues where the BT London Live celebrations of the London 2012 Games will take place, in addition to Trafalgar Square and Hyde Park.

Bringing people together and collectively celebrating the Olympics, there will be big screens in place at each BT London Live venue and a series of live concerts for fans to enjoy.

Just a short walk from the Olympic Park itself, there is sure to be a great atmosphere at Victoria Park throughout the Games with one of the many attractions being a 55m high BT Observation Wheel giving a great view of the Olympic Stadium and across the city.

Of course there will be further celebrations in Olympic ‘Live Sites’ in numerous other locations across London, including Potters Fields, Waltham Forest and Woolwich, and the rest of the UK in city centres and beyond – with Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Plymouth amongst the cities joining the London 2012 party.

At Victoria Park, the BT London Live festivities will centre around the sporting action live on big screens and a range of free entertainment events.

The Opening and Closing Ceremonies (on 27th July and 12th August), the final of the men’s football tournament (11th August) and the men’s 100m final (5th August) will be amongst the highlights and are sure to create a vibrant atmosphere within the park.

There will also be coverage of every medal, every day throughout the games, with free to access for fans. Up to four tickets per person can be booked in advance for entry to BT London Live Victoria Park before 2pm on the specified day.

Meanwhile, an interactive Sports Zone will give visitors a chance to experience Olympic and Paralympic sports participation.

Live music performances each day from the likes of Norman Jay and Friends, Club de Fromage, Courtney Pine, Sean Rowley’s Guilty Pleasures, Slow Club and Sound of Latin London are sure to also get the fans shaking their hips.
