UFC on FOX 15: Machida vs. Rockhold marked the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Featuring a middleweight main event pitting Lyoto Machida against Luke Rockhold, UFC on FOX 15 drew an audience 13,306 for $1.2 million in gate receipts, according to UFC president Dana White. Those numbers are on par for most U.S.-based UFC events on FOX.
There were numerous finishes on the card, but none with a hotter spotlight shining down than Luke Rockhold’s main event submission victory over Lyoto Machida.
Rockhold dominated the fight from the outset, quickly taking it where he wanted, and surprisingly choking out the former light heavyweight champion.

Opening the main card on FOX was rocketing strawweight talent Paige VanZant, who silenced many of her critics. She pummeled veteran Felice Herrig en route to a three-round unanimous decision nod.
