Tennis - Chang joins Nishikori's coaching staff

Former French Open champion Michael Chang will take up a role coaching Japanese number one Kei Nishikori.

Chang has agreed to work for an initial 17 weeks next season alongside Nishikori's main coach, Dante Bottini, who has worked with the world number 17 for the past three years.

In that time Nishikori has gone from being a player on the fringes of the world's top 100 to a fixture in the top 20, who won titles in Memphis and Tokyo in the last two years.

Chang, a former world number two, won the French Open in 1989 and made the finals of both the Australian and US Opens in 1996.
