Swift claims second win in Poland

Team Sky’s Ben Swift slugged to victory in stage five of the Tour of Poland, his second win at the race.

The Briton, who was just beaten to second in stage four, completed the 163.1 km ride from Rabka to Zakopane in four hours, one minute and 22 seconds, winning the slow uphill drag to the line just ahead of Liquigas’ Elia Viviani.

Pim Ligthart of Vacansoleil was third.

Race leader Michal Kwiatkowski (Omega Pharma-Quickstep) finished sixth to retain the yellow jersey ahead of Moreno Moser of Liquigas and and Lars Boom of Rabobank.

Swift tops the points standings ahead of Kwiatkowski, with Daniel Teklehaimanot heading the mountains classification.
