Surfing - Poor waves delay start of Reef Hawaiian Pro

The start of the Reef Hawaiian Pro was postponed due to disappointing and inconsistent waves in Haleiwa.

Waves on the scheduled first day of action were "barely head high", with forecasters expecting a new swell to fill in time for a possible Thursday start.

Organisers are running a series of entertainment events on the beach, which are set to carry on as planned during periods of inaction.

The event has a two-week holding period during which three or four days of surfing are to be completed, leaving no concerns regarding the proper completion of the tournament.
