Snooker - Hamilton dumps out Maguire in Munich

Defending champion Stephen Maguire has crashed out of the Munich Open in the last 32.

The Scotsman lost 4-2 to Anthony Hamilton and the 'Sheriff of Pottingham' enjoyed his return to televised snooker.

Former world champion Graeme Dott recovered from a poor start to beat India's Aditya Mehta 4-2.

Dott was 2-0 down in the event that doubles as European Tour event 6, before rattling off the next four frames to avoid the upset.

He will face Ian Burns in the last 16 after the Englishman defeated Thai potter Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 4-1.

Seven members of the world top 16 - Mark Selby, Neil Robertson, Maguire, Dott, Matthew Stevens, Ricky Walden and Mark Davis – are competing in the tournament.
