Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The Sweden international left the Bianconeri after two years in 2006 following the Calciopoli scandal that saw the Old Lady relegated to Serie B.

But the man who was in charge at the striker’s first ever club has insisted that the talismanic goalscorer has told him he wants to come back to Turin.

“Zlatan wants Juve,” he told Tuttosport. “If not now, then next year.

“He said to me the other day, ‘it’s not a question of money’.

“He said that he wants to return to Juve.”

The 32-year-old has a contract at Paris Saint-Germain until 2016, so a move looks unlikely with the French champions no doubt looking for a huge fee.

This may not be as crazy as it first sounds. Though happy in Paris, Zlatan has never given the impression of a man obsessed with his cause at the Parc des Princes and there is definitely a case that he has unfinished business at Juve.

Lest we forget, both of his title wins with the Bianconeri were scrubbed off after the Calciopoli scandal so maybe he is determined to go back and win Serie A properly this time. Seeing out his final years at the new Juventus Stadium wouldn't be such a bad thing.

The only question is whether Juventus have the financial resources to prise him away from Paris. While it might not be matter of money for uber-rich Ibrahimovic, PSG will not feel the same way: their start striker still has two years on his contract, and is valued at €25 million despite the fact that he turns 33 in less than two months.
