Serie A - Napoli back to winning ways as Higuain breaks goal duck

Serie A, Stadio Olimpico - Lazio 2 (Behrami 25 o.g, Keita 88) Napoli 4 (Higuain 24, 72, Pandev 50, Callejon 90)

Napoli finally got back to winning ways with a remarkable 4-2 victory over Lazio as Gonzalo Higuain put an end to his goal drought.

A double from the Argentine as well as strikes by Goran Pandev and Jose Callejon sealed the three points for Rafa Benitez’s side.

An own goal from Valon Behrami and Keita Balde's late strike were not enough for the hosts.

In a crazy couple of minutes, Napoli took the lead before surrendering their goal advantage only 60 seconds later.

Higuain scored a fantastic individual effort on 24 minutes when he turned his marker 30 yards out, broke past another challenge with terrific pace and strength before sliding the ball beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

But Napoli squandered all of their good work when they failed to deal with Antonio Candreva's cross and Behrami turned the ball past his own goalkeeper Pepe Reina to allow the hosts back into the match.

The visitors took the lead once more five minutes into the second-half when Pandev met Christian Maggio’s cushioned header to fire Napoli in front against his former employers.

Goalscorer Pandev turned provider on 72 minutes when his deadly through ball was met by Higuain who timed his run excellently and fired past Federico Marchetti for his brace.

But Lazio were to make Napoli sweat in the last few minutes of the match when Keita smashed in a second goal for Lazio on a night Serie A produced 13 goals.

With the home side throwing caution to the wind, Napoli sensed blood and Callejon buried the match once and for all with two minutes of injury-time played after he latched onto a fine ball from Dries Merten’s to seal the three points.
