GK: Joe Hart (Manchester City)
The City keeper was at his best in a 3-1 win over Newcastle, flinging out arms and fists to repel shots and crosses all afternoon.
RB: Phil Jones (Manchester United)
Jones slotted in well in place of Rafael and provided real energy down the right flank as United beat Sunderland 3-1.
CB: Ashley Willams (Swansea City)
The defender was desperately unlucky to be on the losing side as he made a succession of crucial blocks and important interceptions throughout the defeat to Tottenham.
CB: Kolo Toure (Manchester City)
The older of the two Toure brothers has not been in favour for some time at Manchester City but he performed excellently at St James' Park.
LB: Leighton Baines (Everton)
Another appearance in our Team of the Week for the ultra-consistent Everton star, who impressed again against Stoke City.
CM: Javi Garcia (Manchester City)
The Spaniard formed one part of a dominant City midfield as they came away from Newcastle with a 3-1 win and renewed confidence about their title challenge.
CM: Yaya Toure (Manchester City)
Making it a Toure double, Yaya was involved in the first goal, scored the third and was a real powerhouse in midfield for his side.
AMR: Adel Taarabt (QPR)
The outstanding player on the pitch against Fulham. It is not an overstatement to suggest that QPR's survival chances could come down to persuading him to skip the African Cup of Nations.
AMC: Wes Hoolahan (Norwich City)
Republic of Ireland assistant Marco Tardelli was in attendance and would have been hugely impressed with the midfielder’s well-taken goal and all-round creative spark in a win over Wigan.
AML: Ashley Young (Manchester United)
Involved in two of the three goals, including a brilliant assist for Robin van Persie's opener, the oft-maligned winger was full of purpose all afternoon and gave Sunderland a torrid time down the left.
ST: Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)
A stunning display of forward power play by the young Belgian striker in a win over Liverpool as he scored twice and claimed an assist.
