City top scorer Sergio Aguero is set to miss out but is in line to return to training next week, while Stoke will be without winger Oussama Assaidi for their trip to the Etihad.
The Bluebirds will also be missing record signing Gary Medel, while Hull could welcome back defenders James Chester and Liam Rosenior.
West Brom will be without striker Nicolas Anelka and midfielder Claudio Yacob, while Fulham could look very different indeed as new Fulham manager Felix Magath has now run the rule over his squad and may decide on to make sweeping changes.
Midfielder Mikel Arteta is available after serving a European suspension for the midweek Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, while striker Olivier Giroud is expected to be recalled. Steven Fletcher could have a chance to play his way into Sunderland's Capital One Cup final team when he returns from injury at Arsenal.
