Premier League - Reports: QPR set for Diame swoop

Reports suggest that Queens Park Rangers will move for West Ham’s Mohamed Diame in January, exploiting a £3.5m release clause in the midfielder’s contract.

The Senegalese player only arrived at Upton Park six months ago on a free transfer from Wigan, but the terms of his deal apparently allow him to move elsewhere if the figure is met.

It was reported on Saturday that the Rs have made a bid for Diame ahead of the transfer window opening on New Year's Day.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp will look to use the upcoming window to invest in players he feels can drag the West Londoners out of their relegation dogfight.

In-form Diame may not wish to trade the mid-table comfort Sam Allardyce’s men enjoy, however, in exchange for a battle to keep away from the Championship.
