Premier League - Penalty redemption for tearful kid at Swansea

There was penalty heartbreak for a young Swansea fan at the Liberty Stadium, but he went on to make it second time lucky.

The tear-jerking event took place at half-time of Swansea's New Year's Day match against Aston Villa.

After a truly epic run-up from the half-way line, the youngster dragged his penalty low and left of the post.

Distraught and in tears, he was persuaded to come back and have another go - and this time, he made no mistake, 'doing a Stuart Pearce' to banish his demons by slotting home past the Swansea mascot.

And the drama was far from over for the lad: his team went on to score a last-minute goal to rescue a point against Villa and begin 2013 in dramatic style.
