Arsène Wenger (Arsenal)

Arsenal’s top target was in the stands’ - Loic Remy was in the crowd at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, news which apparently confirms that he will now likely move to Arsenal - according to the Daily Mail, that is. The Newcastle loanee – who scored his 14th of the season during the Magpies' 3-0 win over Cardiff on Saturday – is set to quit QPR this summer and, despite Newcastle wanting to retain him, he does not favour a return to Tyneside. Arsenal have been mooted as one potential suitor and Remy was there to see the 1-0 victory over West Brom. The 27-year-old will be hoping to win a place in the France World Cup squad but his future could well be sorted before the finals kick off in Brazil next month.

Paper Round’s view: Arsene Wenger is in the market for a new striker, with his side’s lack of firepower one of the key reasons their title challenge faltered towards the end of the season. The Arsenal boss is thought to be an admirer of his countryman but was giving nothing away after the game. Remy - who is known to enjoy London life - recently stated his desire to move to a bigger club. Remy is proven at Premier League level and, with improved service from the Arsenal midfield, the striker could be a big hit at the Emirates and the prolific goalscorer that the side has been missing since Robin van Persie left two years ago.

‘Emotional Cole set to leave Chelsea’ - Cole broke down in tears during Chelsea's parade lap following the Blues' final home game of the season with Norwich on Sunday and will now leave the club, according to the Daily Mail. The 33-year-old couldn't help but show his emotions, fuelling suggestions he will leave the club when his contract runs out this summer. Cole, who was pictured receiving a hug from Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard after the game, has reportedly attracted interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid and has also been linked with a move to the New York Red Bulls in the MLS. Fellow defender John Terry also appeared to be upset as Chelsea players showed the fans their appreciation.

Paper Round’s view: The defender has found first-team opportunities limited this season having been unable to dislodge Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta who has enjoyed a fine season at left back. Having controversially joined the Blues from London rivals Arsenal in 2006, Cole has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the club and has enjoyed a huge amount of success with the club. During his eight years at Stamford Bridge, Cole has won the Champions League, Premier League and Europa League as well as the FA Cup four times. As for Terry almost being moved to tears? Pfft. Don't read anything into it; that cry baby blubs at anything these days.

Southampton line up move for French starlet’ - Southampton want Nice’s brilliant young left back Timothee Kolodziejczak to fill Luke Shaw’s boots, according to the Daily Mirror. Saints have been in direct contact with the French club for the U20 international and are willing to pay around £6 million. Kolodziejczak came through the ranks at Lyon before joining Nice and is ready to move at the age of 22 - with the Premier League his favoured destination.

Paper Round’s view: Nicknamed Kolo, he is seen as an ideal replacement for young England left back Shaw, whose move to Manchester United is being lined up. Southampton want to swoop quickly as Nice are willing to sell and their president was over to discuss deals with buyers at the weekend. Kolodziejczak has played for France at all youth levels and can also fill in as a left winger - in other words, he appears to have all the attacking qualities that will be missed when Shaw goes.

Liverpool and Spurs battle for Lazio star’ - Liverpool and Tottenham will go head-to-head in the summer in the race to sign Lazio starlet Ogenyi Onazi, according to the Daily Mirror. Onazi, 21, has been a revelation for the Serie A outfit this season and has been attracting the interest of a host of European clubs, with Liverpool and Spurs leading the chase. And according to further reports in Italy, Lazio have placed a £10m price-tag on the Nigerian international to stave off the interest in their prized asset. The club are keen to tie up a deal for Onazi before this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

Paper Round’s view: Liverpool were reportedly interested in signing the defensive midfielder in January, but failed to agree a deal before the close of the winter window. Despite uncertainty over the managerial position at Tottenham - with Tim Sherwood unlikely to continue in his role as Spurs boss beyond the end of this season - transfer plans are reportedly already underway. Spurs technical director Franco Baldini - who holds strong connections in Italy having spent two spells at Lazio's fiercest rivals Roma – is understood to have identified Onazi as a key target.
