Premier League - Liverpool players snub Suarez

Luis Suarez's joyous celebration after scoring for Liverpool at Chelsea were dampened when discovered he was completely alone.

The Uruguayan latched on to Jamie Carragher's flick on from a corner and headed into the roof of the net, before sprinting to the corner flag and yelping into a TV camera.

His second-half equaliser at the home of the European champions would surely earn him the adulation of his team-mates - wouldn't it?

But when he turned round, he saw his team-mates had ignored him. After a moment of awkward contemplation as he stared at the empty space in front of him, Suarez shouted 'Yeah!' and started blowing kisses to the crowd.

The incident has become an internet sensation, with Twitter users taking mischievous delight in the controversial Uruguayan's discomfort.

It sparked claims that Suarez, who served a ban last season for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra and has repeatedly come under fire for diving, is not exactly Mr Popular in the Anfield dressing room.

More likely, the Liverpool players merely decided to celebrate with Carragher, who recorded his first Premier League assist since 2009.
