Premier League - Gerrard, Lampard on FIFPro shortlist

England internationals Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have both made the shortlist for the FIFPro World XI.

Three midfielders will make the final team at the Ballon d'Or Gala on January 7, 2013, when the world's finest player will be crowned.

Gerrard is on the list after having a fine Euro 2012, while Lampard is recognised for his role in Chelsea's Champions League triumph in May, despite suffering from injury this season.

Barcelona supply four players - Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fabregas, Xavi and Andres Iniesta - while Spain are also represented by Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso and Manchester City's David Silva.

Iniesta is the third favourite to be named the winner of the overall FIFA Ballon d'Or award behind forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
