The stage was set for a thrilling battle with second-placed Norway, who were 98 points behind the Germans heading into the finale.

However, the jumps were ruled unsafe as strong and changing winds on Falun’s Lugnet hill would not cease.

It also meant Austria finished third in the overall standings, while Japan’s Akito Watabe won the last individual race of the season on Saturday.
