Nordic Combined - Edelmann and Riessle take thrilling World Cup win

German duo Tino Edelmann and Fabian Riessle produced a fantastic cross-country ski to win a highly competitive team sprint World Cup event in Chaux-Neuve, France.

A combined points total of 247.7 from the jumping section put the Germany II pair fourth heading into the cross-country section, 28 seconds behind the Austrian pair of Christoph Bieler and Bernhard Gruber who were ranked first.

But their combined time of 34:32.8minutes, the fourth fastest, was enough to earn them victory by just 0.4seconds over the Norway II team of Mikko Kokslien and Joergen Graabak.

The Norwegians produced the fastest time of 33:58.2minutes but it was not enough to give them the win as they had began the race 1.03minutes behind.

Germany's Johannes Rydzek and Eric Frenzel completed the podium in third, 2.1seconds behind the overall winners.
