MotoGP Le Mans: Ninth for Lowes after first-lap error

The Speed Up rider was forced to run on after rescuing a front and rear slide and lost a couple of seconds to the pack but then set the fastest lap of the race at that point to scrabble back into the top ten.

“I fought hard but made a mistake on the first lap and lost some time but my best time was only 0.2 off the best lap so our speed was not too bad,” said Lowes, speaking after the race.

“I was backing in and when the rear came back into line, I lost the front so I had to run off the tarmac and came back on. We had a bit more tyre drop than some of the other guys, so we need to look at that.

"We can improve the bike, I can improve. We are getting closer and we need a few more solid results and then we will be closer to the top.”
