FRANCE, Paris : Paris Saint-Germain's French midfielder Blaise Matuidi (C) is congratuled by teammate Paris Saint-Germain's French midfielder Jeremy Menez (L) after scoring a goal during the French L1 football match Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) vs Evian Thon

PSG – 10 points clear with four games remaining – can build an unassailable lead in the league with victory over Sochaux on Sunday, although they may already be champions by the time they take to the field depending on Monaco’s result at Ajaccio the day before.

Evian almost took the lead on five minutes when Daniel Wass crashed a free-kick against the crossbar before the versatile Evian defender saw a header saved by Salvatore Sirigu.

PSG upped their tempo after the restart, almost taking the lead shortly before the hour when Ezequiel Lavezzi shot wide from close range.

The visitors' task was made trickier when Kassim Abdallah was dismissed for a second bookable offence but it looked as though they would hold on until Matuidi picked up Lucas Moura’s through ball and tucked home the winner.

Evian stay 16th on 38 points, five clear of the relegation zone with four matches remaining.

Toulouse and Lyon drew 0-0 in Wednesday's other Ligue 1 match.
