Gerard Deulofeu of Spain arrives for a press conference at Ciudad del Futbol on May 27, 2014 in Las Rozas de Madrid, Spain

Deulofeu, who has returned to Barcelona after spending last season on loan at Everton, was speaking at a promotional event in Andorra.

The event, which featured a question and answer session with fans, was also attended by fellow La Masia graduates Marc Bartra and Marc Muniesa.

One supporter asked if Deulofeu would rather turn out in the colours of Stoke, or Real Madrid, and he answered: "Stoke City."

Deulofeu was also asked if he would dare play against Real's Portuguese defender Pepe without shinpads, but emphatically responded in the negative that time.

The forward will be in the Barcelona squad this season, but he welcomed the prospective signing of Luis Suarez, who is expected to join the Catalan club from Liverpool in the coming days.

"He is a very interesting player," Deulofeu was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo. "For me, he’s one of the best strikers in the world and if he comes he would be a great signing."

Deulofeu believes his spell on Merseyside will stand him in good stead as he looks to gain a regular place in the Barca team.

"I really want to start the season, for everything to go well and to win everything with Barca," he added. "I worked hard at Everton, I learned many things and I was lucky enough to achieve my goal of returning home.

"I learned personally and in football. Until you’re away, and you have no family, the food, the weather, you don’t know what you have and you learn to value things.

"[Messi, Neymar and Suarez] are the best players but I am confident in myself. I think a lot of my chances and I work every day hoping to get my challenge.

"For now I’m on vacation, what I have to do is work hard and do what the coach decides. Just getting in the team will make me happy. Collectively the requirement of the club is to win titles.

"I like a little pressure. That’s how football goes. I think that without pressure we can’t be the best."
