Lees gets England call

Leeds defender Tom Lees has been called up to the England Under-21 squad for the forthcoming Euro 2013 qualifiers.

The 21-year-old centre-half is linking up with Stuart Pearce's squad for Thursday's meeting with Azerbaijan in Baku.

The Young Lions then take on Norway in Chesterfield on Monday as they bid to qualify for next year's tournament in Isreal.

Lees signed a new long-term contract with Leeds earlier this year, committing himself to the club until at least 2016.

His call-up is reward for some impressive displays in Leeds' solid start to the new season, in which he has scored two goals in five appearances.
