It has been reported that Hatton, who formally announced his impending return to the ring two weeks ago, views former two-time interim WBO lightweight champion Katsidis an ideal candidate to face him on the November 24 card in Manchester.

Matthew Tripp, part of the Katsidis camp, admitted it is an offer they would take seriously but says there has been no approach as yet.

He told BBC Sport: "At this stage there have been no discussions.

"But it is something we would consider depending on the purse and depending on the weight."

The 32-year-old, whose record stands at 28-6, has fought in England three times before, stopping Graham Earl and Kevin Mitchell but losing a unanimous decision to Ricky Burns last November.

Tripp claims another trip to Britain at two months notice would not be an obstacle for Katsidis, who has kept himself in full shape since his last fight, a majority decision loss to Albert Mensah in April.

"It wouldn't be a problem to fight in Manchester," he said.

"Michael has been over to Britain and he's won two world titles over there.

"We have had nothing from their camp at the moment. But 24 November would give us enough time - Michael is in full training at the moment."
