Kings 3, Jets 1
The game may have appeared close on the scoreboard but the visitors out-shot the hosts by a 41-18 margin and at times the ice looked tilted toward the Winnipeg net.
The win improved the Kings' record to 36-22-6 and dropped the Jets to 30-27-7.

Blues 2, Predators 1
Goaltender Ryan Miller remains unbeaten with his new team after turning aside 20 shots for his third win with the St Louis Blues, who edged the Nashville Predators on the road.

Bruins 3, Capitals 0
The Boston Bruins, getting only token resistance from the Washington Capitals, cruised to their third straight victory.
Tuukka Rask turned aside only 16 shots to beat the Caps for the first time in his career and post his sixth shutout of the season.
The Caps, short-handed because of injuries and suspension, lost their third straight.

The Tampa Bay Lightning welcomed the return of their best player but could not get a win against the worst team in the NHL.
Center Steven Stamkos was back in action after a 45-game injury absence but Tampa Bay was ineffective in its first game without former captain Martin St Louis, an emotional leader who asked to be dealt to the New York Rangers at the trade deadline.
