The Frenchman, who took control of the tournament with a course record 62 in the second round, birdied the final two holes to end up 18 under par and three shots clear of England's Tommy Fleetwood and five ahead of Spain's Alvaro Quiros.

Ryder Cup star Francesco Molinari closed with a 67 to finish fourth at -12, while Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson were in a group tied for fifth a further shot back.

Levy started his final round well and led by five shots at one point, but the chasing pack began to catch up with him and a double bogey on the 15th - saw his lead reduced to a single shot with three holes left.

But the 23-year-old birdied the par-5 17th to re-establish some breathing space, then hit a stunning approach to five feet on the last, holing the putt for another birdie to claim his first European Tour victory.

“I hit one of my best shots on 17. I didn’t feel pressure on the golf course because I’m confident," said Levy.

“I just played my golf and focussed on the target. I saw Tommy made a birdie on the 17th but I like the pressure.”

England's Danny Willett was also left celebrating after a hole-in-one on the 12th, which won him a new car.

"It’s pretty cool to win such a great car,” Willett said of his new V40 Cross Country. "I’m looking forward to taking it for a spin."
