Freestyle Skiing - Chinese domination continues in aerials competition

China continue to set the early season pace in the freestyle skiing World Cup aerials competition after Xin Zhang took victory in front of a packed home crowd in Beijing's Bird's Nest stadium.

Last weekend's opening event saw three-time world champion Li Nina leave the first mark of the season when she took gold in Beida Lake.

Competition then moved to Beijing this weekend for the second of two World Cup events in China this season, and Zhang duly picked up the baton for her country as she took the win with 87.06 points.

Lydia Lassila was second for Australia with 84.24 points while world champion Mentao Xu took bronze, comfortably ahead of Li.

It means China lock out the overall standings for the aerials with Li top with 150 points, Zhang second with 116 and Xu third with 110.
