Football - Walker stakes claim for Pools start

Hartlepool teenager Brad Walker hopes to have earned a recall to the starting line-up at Chesterfield after scoring his first senior goal for the club at the weekend.

The 17-year-old fired Pools' equaliser two minutes after stepping off the bench to replace Simon Walton in Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Burton and the 6ft 3in midfielder has given boss Colin Cooper plenty to think about.

Cooper has opted to play wide midfielder Jonathan Franks as a lone central striker in Pools' last two away games and could be tempted to revert back to a similar formation.

Defenders Jordan Richards (double hernia) and Dan Jones (ankle) will play no part as Pools chase their first win in five league games.
