Scottish Football - Rangers bring in financial expert

Rangers have confirmed they will recruit the services of financial consultant Philip Nash "from time to time" as the Ibrox club bid to bring spending under control.

The Light Blues are losing about £1million per month with the club's share price falling and chief executive Graham Wallace is currently reviewing finances with a view to making the cuts he promised at the club's AGM in December.

Wallace is a chartered accountant but despite also having Brian Stockbridge in the role of financial director at Ibrox, Nash, who previously worked at Liverpool and Arsenal, will be called upon as and when required by Wallace.

A spokesman for the Ibrox club told Press Association Sport: "Mr Nash is a consultant and will be called on from time to time by Graham Wallace as he works on his 120 day restructuring project.

"Mr Wallace will call on the best strategic minds in the sporting and business world to put Rangers Football Club back to where they belong."
