Football - McMahon: Young players have fantastic attitude

Tranmere assistant manager John McMahon believes the club's young stars are showing the right attitude to progress.

A number of academy graduates including Cole Stockton, Max Power and Jake Kirby have all played a part in Rovers' rise to pole position in npower League One this season.

And McMahon says all the hard work from their young charges is beginning to pay dividends.

"We've got good listeners, I think that's the difference from this season to the past," he told the club's official website.

"We've got young lads who are keen and enthusiastic. If you can give them the right advice and they believe in what we're doing they'll take it on board and listen more.

"They're not going to be the finished article; they're still young and learning their trade. But they're going about things in the right way. Their attitude is fantastic."

He added: "It's still a development phase for them, they're still babies in terms of learning the game and going in and doing a job on a regular basis. But I'm sure with the way we're going about things they'll get there."
