Football - Beck inspired by Miller

Carlisle's teenage striker Mark Beck is hoping to learn all he can from skipper and mentor Lee Miller in an effort to make a bigger impact at the club next season.

Beck was rewarded with a professional contract in the summer after making his first-team breakthrough at the end of last season.

He has made 20 appearances this time around, scoring four goals.

"Lee plays in my position and I look up to him for the way he does things," Beck told the club's official website.

"I watch what he does in training and during games and you can only learn from that.

"I think my own aim for the rest of this season is to get as much pitch time as I can. From there I'll try to make sure that I come back next year as strong and as fit as I can be."

The 18-year-old added: "I think I just need to be more consistent and it's good to know that I've got the time to do it.

"With having the three-year contract I know I'm going to improve and I'm determined to do the work to go with that."
