Escude leaves Sevilla for Turkey

French defender Julien Escude has left Sevilla to join Turkish club Besiktas.

The 32-year-old, who won the last of his 13 international caps in 2009, has signed a two-year contract ahead of his move to Istanbul.

Escude's exit brings to an end his successful six-year spell at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, during which time he earned two winner's medals in both the Copa del Rey and UEFA Cup.

His place in the squad will be taken by another Frenchman after the Andalucian club signed France under-19 midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The 19-year-old has signed a five-year deal after joining for an undisclosed fee from Ligue 2 side Lens, where he made 34 appearances last term.
