Dakar - Trucks: De Rooy hits summit again after stage five

Gerard de Rooy returned to the top of the truck standings after finishing third on stage five, as Hans Stacey won on the journey from Arequipa to Arica.

Iveco driver De Rooy had lost top spot after a disastrous stage four, but the Dutchman rediscovered his form soon enough to climb back to the summit.

He now leads the Kamaz driven by Eduard Nikolaev in the overall standings by just over five-and-a-half minutes after the Russian came in second behind Stacey on the day.

Another Russian, Ayrat Mardeev, finished fourth and he remains third overall ahead of stage six from Arica to Calama.
