Dakar - Cars: Peterhansel wins stage two, takes overall lead

A win on the second day of the Dakar Rally has seen Stephane Peterhansel assume the overall lead.

Peterhansel dominated the stage from San Luis to San Rafael with a time of three hours, 52 minutes and five seconds to move up from sixth in the overall standings.

Carlos Sainz trailed the 11-time winner by some 46 seconds – and is 28 seconds behind the Frenchman in the overall standings.

Third on stage two was Giniel de Villiers, some 05:34 behind Peterhansel.
