Cycling - Hushovd back in full training

Thor Hushovd is back in full training after recovering from the virus that ruined his 2012 season.

The Norwegian former world champion raced on only 28 days with his season cut short in July.

He was finally diagnosed with a viral infection causing muscle inflammation in September.

“It is lovely to ride when you know that your body works. It has not been that way for a while, but it is now," he told Norwegian channel TV2

"I am training more and more, and am on track. I have not explored how much my body can handle, or gone to the limit. During this period, it is important to build my body up gradually, so that I get a proper foundation."

Hushovd will join up with team BMC Racing in December.

“The first real test comes on December 10," he said. "Then I will meet the BMC collective, and it's going to be more - and harder - training than I've had in months.”
