Cycling - Arndt wins third Dauphine stage; Froome retains yellow

Nikias Arndt of Giant Shimano won the third stage of the Criterium du Dauphine, with Kris Boeckmans close behind him in second place.

This was the longest stage, with a course over 194km from Ambert to Le Teil, and set up for strong sprinters.

It proved the case in a very tight finish, with the German Arndt managing to sneak over the line by centimetres.

Chris Froome of Team Sky had won the first two stages and retains the yellow jersey, with Alberto Contador in second.
