Bundesliga - Mainz rescue point against Nurnberg

Shinji Okazaki struck with 15 minutes to go to salvage a point for Mainz in a 1-1 draw with struggling Nurnberg at the Grundig Stadion in the Bundesliga.

The Japan international finished coolly after latching onto a long ball forward on 75 minutes to cancel out centre-back Per Nilsson's opener for the hosts.

Okazaki's goal denied Nurnberg what would have been their first victory in 14 games and Gertjan Verbeek's side remain second from bottom of the table.

Mainz, who had substitute Petar Sliskovic sent off in injury time, stay in seventh on 20 points.
