Bundesliga - Hertha up to sixth after win over Werder

Hertha Berlin moved into sixth place in the Bundesliga with a 3-2 win over Werder Bremen at the Olympiastadion in the German capital.

Adrian Ramos struck twice for Hertha as Jos Luhukay's side leapfrogged Schalke into the Germany's final Europa League spot.

Visitors Werder took the lead after a quarter of an hour of play when Nils Petersen's effort from outside the box flew past Thomas Kraft in the Hertha goal.

But just two minutes later Ramos got his first from the penalty spot after Theodor Gebre Selassie was adjudged to have fouled Per Skjelbred inside the area.

Ramos then put the Berliners ahead for the first time on 26 minutes, shooting across Raphael Wolf, only for Werder to equalise six minutes later through Aaron Hunt.

Ronny netted what proved to be the decisive goal three minutes into the second half when he pounced after Wolf could only parry Peter Pekarik's effort into the Brazilian's path.

Werder remain in 14th place, with a five-point cushion between them and Eintracht Frankfurt in 15th.
