Fury was set to fight Ustinov after original opponent and heavyweight rival Dereck Chisora withdrew from their fight after fracturing his hand in training.

Promoter Frank Warren had hastily re-arranged the bout to secure former kick-boxer Ustinov as Fury’s opponent.

However, Fury’s uncle Peter, who also trains the 6'9'' boxer, decided to withdraw him from the contest due to concerns over his mental readiness for the bout in the wake of his Hughie's hospitalisation.

Promoter Warren said: “I’m very, very, disappointed for the fans. After Dereck Chisora pulled out because of his hand injury, we worked very hard to secure a world ranked opponent in Ustinov.

“It’s sad that his uncle Hughie is in a serious condition and our thoughts are with him.

“The show will still go ahead and as before it’s a great card with Billy Joe Saunders, Liam Smith, Terry Flanagan and Jack Catterall and Nathan Brough all in title action. We will be announcing the rescheduled date for Chisora-Fury next week.”
