Boothroyd remaining grounded

Northampton boss Aidy Boothroyd does not want his side to get carried away after they pulled off the shock of the first round in the Capital One Cup.

Goals from newcomers David Artell and Alex Nicholls ensured the Cobblers claimed the big scalp of last year's beaten finalists Cardiff.

However, Boothroyd is keen to keep his squad focused before the npower League Two curtain-raiser against Rochdale this Saturday.

Boothroyd said: "I don't want to get too carried away but I'm really excited about the players we've got here and what we might be able to do this season.

"It's important we celebrate this result but then focus on the next league game and not get too carried away.

"I don't want to be a team that has a good cup run and knocks a big team out but finishes near the bottom of the table."
