Biathlon - Svendsen secures back-to-back victories in Oberhof

Emil Hegle Svendsen of Norway made it back-to-back World Cup wins in Oberhof after storming to victory in the men's 12.5km pursuit.

Fresh from claiming victory in the 10km sprint Svendsen was back out on the German course 24 hours later looking to further close the gap on Frenchman Martin Fourcade in the overall World Cup standings.

And he did exactly that as he incurred one penalty en route to finishing in 34:47.7 minutes to take the victory.

And Fourcade had to settled for third in the end as Svendesn's teammate Ole Einar Björndalen claimed silver.

Despite finishing third in Oberhof Fourcade still sits atop the overall World Cup standings on 402 with Svendsen second on 263 and Norway’s Johannes Thingnes Boe third on 235 after finishing the 12.5k pursuit in sixth.
