Biathlon - Domracheva returns to take first World Cup win of the season

Darya Domracheva bounced back in fine style to kick start her biathlon World Cup campaign with victory in the women’s 7.5km sprint in Oberhof.

The Belarusian missed the last World Cup event in Annecy but returned in Germany to claim her first win of the season in a time of 23:06.7minutes.

Her late push to the line saw her comfortably take top spot away from Finland’s Kaisa Makarainen while Ukraine’s Olena Pidrushna took third.

Defending World Cup champion Tora Berger of Norway had to settle for fourth in the end but showed signs that her best form is returning and would have finished higher still if not for some wayward shooting on the second round.
