Basketball - Perkins facing assault charge

Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins faces a misdemeanour assault charge for allegedly punching a woman outside a nightclub in Houston in July, according to a report.

Perkins and his brother-in-law were charged when the case was re-filed after being dismissed. Perkins posted a $1,000 bond on Thursday.

The alleged incident occurred after two vehicles backed into each other outside the club and an altercation ensued. Perkins was a passenger in one of the vehicles. A woman involved, Miketta Cotton, told police that Perkins punched her brother, Ja'Keenan Cotton, in the head and then punched her in the face, causing her to fall down.
