Basketball - Davis signs deal with Clippers

Forward Glen Davis, who agreed to a buyout with the Orlando Magic last week, has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers after clearing waivers.

He joined the team in New Orleans.

Davis, 28, averaged 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds for the Magic this season in 45 games, including 43 starts.

Davis played the first four seasons of his career with the Boston Celtics under coach Doc Rivers, now the head coach of the Clippers.

A MRI revealed that Washington Wizards center Nene has a sprained MCL in his left knee that will sideline him for about six weeks, the team announced.

If he returns in six weeks, Nene would be available the first week of April, with five or six regular-season games remaining.

The 6-11 Nene is averaging 14.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.24 steals in 30.1 minutes.
