Alpine Skiing - Hirscher to have dedicated coach

Michael Pircher has given up his role as slalom coach of the Austrian team to work exclusively with Marcel Hirscher.

The 24-year-old Hirscher was the 2012 and 2013 overall World Cup champion, and will now have Pircher, 37, as his personal coach.

Pircher's current job has been taken on by compatriot Marko Pfeifer, who has signed a two-year contract, the National Ski Federation of Austria confirmed.

"A very important Olympic season is ahead of us," Pfeifer said, "We need to build a young slalom team around Marcel Hirscher."
