    Time:90'
    • Chelsea
    • Newcastle United
    • 90+4' Newcastle break with Ameobi, he fires from distance, over, and that's full time.
    • 90+3' The ref should put this game out of its misery, as Jose Mourinho and Pardew shake hands. Mourinho might have already gone into the changing room.
    • 90+2' Schurlle drives towards goal from the right, and despite attention from a defender, manages to get a shot at goal, but it's over. He could have given the ball right to Ba, but he wouldn't have had a much better chance.
    • 90' There will be four more minutes of this.
    • 89' The first corner from the left for Newcastle is out for another. Sissoko takes again, short, and plays the ball to Gosling on the edge of the box and Chelsea break. Sissoko then slides through Salah, and is possibly lucky to just get a yellow.
    • 87' Salah with another chance, in yards of space, but his shot is straight at Krul. Marveaux is slipped in at the other end by Sissoko, and he fires his shot wide.
    • 86' Schurrle finds Salah on the inside left. He has space to shoot, but he drags his shot well wide.
    • 84' Marveaux replaces Anita for Newcastle, and Chelsea swap Schurrle for Hazard.
    • 83' A rare chance, and De Jong shoots towards goal, his shot from distance dribbling towards Cech.
    • 81' Chelsea back with the ball in defence after a long ball for Anita is collected by Cech.
    • 80' Salah attempts a run forward from midfield but he's easily outmuscled by Ameobi, of all people.
    • 79' Chelsea have only had 63% possession, down a percentage point. Mourinho out!
    • 78' Willian is replaced by Salah.
    • 77' Demba Ba can't keep the ball up top, and Newcastle try a rare attack. De Jong's run behind Cahill is found, he turns the ball centrally towards Ameobi, but he slices his shot wide.
    • 76' It looks like Salah will be introduced soon, presumably for one of the original starting attacking four.
    • 75' The corner's out to the other side, over hit. Chelsea have the ball back in front of the defence, but Newcastle win it back, Gosling attempting a break which quickly falls apart.
    • 74' Both teams appear to have settled now. Willian bursts down the right, but Taylor keeps up with him and deflects a cross out for a corner.
    • 73' Gosling finds Ameobi on the left, and he's obviously pushed over by Ivanovic, and then tackled fairly, conceding a goal kick.
    • 72' Cahill lunges across to take the ball away from Ameobi as he looked to break down the left wing.
    • 71' Eto'o is replaced by Ba.
    • 69' Chelsea are never going to concede, are they?
    • 68' Mata trips Santon as he evades the Serb with a neat backheel, and maybe the comeback is on? No.
    • 67' Chelsea might score again, no matter how much it would displease Mourinho, smouldering on the sidelines.
    • 66' This game is, as you know, over.
    • 64' Gosling (Dan) replaces Ben Arfa.
    • 63' GOAL! Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle. Hazard takes two steps, gives Krul the eyes and puts the ball two yards to the side of the 'keeper.
    • 62' Penalty! From the corner Yanga-Mbiwa very obviously drags Eto'o to the ground, and Hazard has his chance to get a hat-trick.
    • 61' Lampard shapes to shoot, but Krul tips over at the near post.
    • 60' The corner comes to nothing. Chelsea have the ball back in defence. A long Cahill pass somehow finds Hazard when it should have been cut out, and Yanga-Mbiwa cleans him out, earning a yellow.
    • 59' Hazard's cross is headed over as Taylor strains towards goal.
    • 58' Willian finds Ivanovic on the right in space. He sends in an early, low cross towards Eto'o, unmarked in the centre. He might have shot first, but takes one touch and his shot is blocked, limply bouncing towards Krul.
    • 57' Demba Ba is warming up. With the game won, and Eto'o Chelsea's best striker, it might be worth swapping the too soon.
    • 56' Krul twisted his ankle in his momentary impression of Joe Hart, but he'll be OK to continue.
    • 54' Eto'o has the ball inside the box by the byline but is tackled, winning a corner. It comes to nothing and Newcatle attack down the left. Anita takes on Luiz, evades his challenge but runs it out of play.
    • 53' Luiz clears the ball forward, then Tim falls over as the ball bounces over him, and Hazard can't quite reach the ball before it rolls out of place. That was remarkable.
    • 52' Eto'o plays a ball down the inside left that he expects at least one player will run onto, but nobody does.
    • 50' The cross is cleared all the way back to Cech.
    • 49' Ameobi is booked for a clipping of Ivanovic's heels, just on the corner of the box. Lampard is lining up to cross.
    • 47' Eto'o looks to get on a Dummett back pass but Krul clears easily enough.
    • 46' The second half, as is tradition, follows the first.
    • 45+2' More resting by Chelsea, finding the game easy. Oscar finds Hazard, who turns the ball towards Eto'o, and despite a few attempts to wrong-foot the defenders, is closed down and Newcastle clear. The ref blows for half-time.
    • 45+1' Chelsea seem to be taking a full blown sleep, rather than a rest, on the ball, and are not being troubled by Newcastle.
    • 45' A free kick is knocked down to Ameobi, whose cross is squared, and Lampard cuts it out to concede a corner on the left. It's taken short, and Willian pressures Ben Arfa into conceding a goal kick.
    • 44' Hazard is on the edge of the box, and witlessly the defenders back off him as they cover the run to the left of Azpilicueta, and he blasts the ball over.
    • 43' Ameobi ambles down the left for about 30 yards, and he dinks in a cross that Cech finds easy to claim, with nobody attacking the cross.
    • 42' Chelsea have had 64% possession so far, which backs up what you could tell from just watching the match.
    • 40' Eto'o drags a shot wide. Debuch is replaced by Yanga-Mbiwa.
    • 39' Krul clears and Tiote starts an attack. Yanga-Mbiwa will come on soon. Sissoko then fires in a cross for De Jong, and he heads across goal, but too softly to trouble Cech.
    • 38' Chelsea with the ball in defence, and there is not one chance in a thousand that Chelsea won't win from here. Willian sends a shot well, well over.
    • 37' A Newcastle throw forward from Debuchy is headed back out of play. Chelsea then clear to the midfield.
    • 36' The game hits a lull, as everyone looks at Hazard and wishes they'd practised more as children.
    • 34' Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle. Hazard scores! The corner comes to nothing and Chelsea break with Willian and then Hazard. Hazard drives into the box, and he plays a backheeled 1-2 with Eto'o on the penalty spot, and takes a one-touch finish into the corner. Brilliant.
    • 33' Santon brilliantly finds Sissoko, who has sprung the offside trap, and Cech runs out quickly to block Sissoko's heavy touch for a corner.
    • 32' Sissoko does well to get a cross in from the right, but it's easily stopped by Cech. Chelsea then start to build from defence. A long ball forward is stopped by Krul.
    • 31' Lampard curls the ball towards goal, De Jong clears to Hazard, and he volleys the ball wide.
    • 30' Anita comes in late on Matic, and Chelsea have a free kick 45 yards out for Lampard to take.
    • 29' Santon has a shot from distance, low and into the corner, but Cech can save easily.
    • 27' GOAL! Chelsea 1-0 Newcastle United. Hazard scores, and it had been coming. He takes the ball in midfield, flicks the ball into space, and he then finds Ivanovic on the edge of the box with a simple pass. He continues his run into the box, and without breaking stride, turns the ball into the corner.
    • 26' Chelsea are camped inside the Newcastle half. The ball is worked inside to Oscar, in Lampard territory, who is found by Eto'o. He aims to Krul's right, but the shot is inches wide.
    • 25' Chelsea play outside the Newcastle box and Ameobi has tracked back to tackle and concede a throw.
    • 24' The corner drops to Cahill and he can't get his shot away. Oscar then sends the ball back in and Ivanovic glances it into the air, and Krul claims. A moment later, Hazard drives in a cross which is cleared before Eto'o gets to it.
    • 23' Hazard lays off a backheel for Hazard, and after some faff, Chelsea win it back, a low cross is cleared, then Taylor hoofs the ball into the air, Eto'o wins it back and Dummett slides in to concede a corner on the right.
    • 22' Chelsea still dominating possession, but the calm might change if they don't begin to make more of the ball soon. Then again, they'll just score when Mourinho tells them to.
    • 20' Chelsea are back on the attack, but Willian's low cross from the right is easily cleared and Chelsea are back with the ball in defence.
    • 19' Sissoko has a little room outside the box but his shot is well wide.
    • 18' Eto'o finds Hazard with a short pass forward. Hazard spins around and almost finds Eto'o with his pass, but an interception clears it. Debuchy eventually clears to Willian on the edge of the box, but the move breaks down and Eto'o loses out as Krul collects Oscar's pass.
    • 17' Ben Arfa collects the ball on the edge of the box, and he cuts onto his left, and he curls a low shot towards goal, but it's close enough for Cech to get down and stop.
    • 15' Debuch has gone down, clutching his calf or achilles. There didn't seem to be any great foul to cause it, so more than likely he'll be able to continue as he doesn't seem to concerned.
    • 14' Ben Arfa puts Azpilicueta under pressure at left back, but he concedes a free kick.
    • 13' Chelsea maintain possession, and Willian chases a Lampard ball but he can't keep the ball in and Krul will clear with a long goal kick.
    • 12' Matic brings the ball from deep, Hazard brings it forward...
    • 11' Oscar is tripped by Debuchy on the byline, and the ball rolls out of play for a goal kick, when Oscar might have deserved a fre kick. Chelsea win the ball back and attack down the left wing. Eto'o finds Lampard outside the box, whose low shot is saved by Krul.
    • 9' Sissoko is closed down by Matic on the left, and his tackle deflects the ball out for a corner on the left wing. Santon takes it short, gets it back from Ben Arfa, and eventually Ben Arfa receives the ball, cuts in to the box and sends a shot in at the near post that Cech saves.
    • 7' Chelsea are playing patiently, with the kind of confidence you'd expect after Monday when they put in an excellent performance. Eto'o dinks the ball back for Lampard, but his shot strikes the defender.
    • 5' Sissoko takes a shot from distance, but it's off-target.
    • 4' Lampard takes, and he gets the shot past the wall, and just a few yards wide. Krul had it covered.
    • 3' Eto'o is fouled by Taylor, with his back to goal, and Chelsea have a free kick 35 yards out, centrally placed.
    • 2' Eden Hazard has a little space as he saunters down the left of the box, but his shot is weakly hit and easily stopped by Krul.
    • 1' Chelsea have kicked off, and they're playing the ball around defence with their usual samba style.
    • 14:55 I reckon Chelsea will win 2-0 today, because Jose Mourinho has simply decided to win the league, meaning that Chelsea will now win the league and not concede a single goal until Mourinho leaves.
    • 14:50 This is the first start for Luuk de Jong, Kinnear's folly, up front for Newcastle. There is no replacement for Yohan Cabaye due to the other Kinnear folly, namely not signing anyone on a permanent basis. Davide Santon appears to be playing in midfield according to the teamsheet, which rather makes a point that Pardew has been left a little short.
    • 14:45 John Terry misses his first Premier League match in yonks as he has a minor muscle strain that meant it wasn't worth risking him. That means Luiz in defence, which can sometimes lead to a fairly amusing development on the pitch.
    • 14:40 Pardew commenting, with a minor difference of opinion, commenting on an opinion that Mourinho doesn't really have, but says for the sake of saying something, anything to fill the void at the heart of the media. It's one hell of a carousel and you wouldn't get my fingers off it without extensive enhanced interrogation techniques.
    • 14:35 Alan Pardew: "I don't believe that [Chelsea are not in the title race] for one minute - and I think deep down, nor does Jose... You have to defend well. They (Chelsea) need to find a way, and nine times out of 10, they do... We all want to see the game played on an even field, end-to-end, but you have to be careful when you are coming up against players of the quality he (Mourinho) has. He moans that he doesn't have this and that, but he's got plenty."
    • 14:30 Jose Mourinho pretty much admits that press conferences and post-match interviews should never be taken at face value, and don't ever have to be true or taken as such. If other people could start to learn that lessono then that would make the discourse around football far more edifying. As it is we're stuck with death threats and constant, tiring outrage. Still, there you have it.
    • 14:25 Jose Mourinho: "Everything I say and do are mind games. The only thing that is not mind games are the results... I'm not saying we're not going to win. I'm saying we are candidates, we're outsiders. We are not a squad like Man City's with every player in the best moment of their careers of the age of stability between 25 and their 30s, all of them working together for a long time, a manager that arrived and the team was there ready for him. We are different. We are beginning."
