  • Live Commentary

    • 90+4 And that's it. What a game. That makes it 199 goals for Ronaldo for Real Madrid. Barca can't win the title tomorrow now.
    • 90+3 One more minute of the added stuff here.
    • 90+2 Sastre clips Higuaín and he is in the book.
    • 90+1 But Ozil springs forward down the left and comes back on himself before looking to pick out Khedira but his cross comes off the defender and back off Ozil for the goal-kick.
    • 90' Real Madrid dropping deep to protect what they have.
    • 89' The visiting fans are in full voice as we enter the last few minutes.
    • 88' That was some strike by the substitute.
    • 87' GOOOAL!! WHAT A STRIKE. Sastre watches a headed-clearance all the way and as it drops some thirty yards out he catches it magnificently on the volley and Diego López has no chance. What a strike. 4-3.
    • 85' That would have been some goal there, and it would have set up quite the finish.
    • 84' What an effort. Oscar runs from his own half with the ball and spots Diego López off his line but the big keeper just manages to get a hand to it to push it wide - he was just inside Real's half when he took that shot.
    • 82' Özil leads a charge forward, cuts in from the right and finds Higuaín on the edge but he snatches at the effort and Jaime claims with ease.
    • 80' Got to feel for Jaime who has made four or five decent saves but has conceded four.
    • 79' Manucho on for Javi Guerra – disappointing that coach Miroslav Djukic didn’t leave him on there and sacrifice a midfielder.
    • 78' Ebert with a chance at the far post but he just can’t angle the ball back under the bar. Big chance.
    • 77' Bueno slaloms forward and in the process beats three men but Carvalho steps out to meet him to clear.
    • 75' Valladolid put together a decent spot of passing for the first time in a while but Javi Guerra goes fractionally too soon and the assistant referee’s flag is up.
    • 73' Modric, who picks up pockets of space in between players, collects the ball in midfield and charges forward but his shot from just outside the box skews wide.
    • 72' Rubio replaced by Sastre for the visitors.
    • 71' Benzema off and Higuaín is on in his stead.
    • 70' GOOOAL!! Ozil with an assist. His corner is met by the head of Ronaldo who heads past Jaime to make it four. 4-2.
    • 69' Real Madrid really putting the pressure on now.
    • 68' Benzema skips past a challenge or two and finds Ronaldo on the edge who is primed to shoot but Ebert just manages to get a boot to it.
    • 67' That means Modric will be even further forward now – in his most natural position.
    • 66' Ozil and Xabi Alonso replace Kaká and Di María.
    • 65' Valladolid's effervescence has faded a little this half as Madrid prep a double sub.
    • 64' Modric slings the free-kick over and Pepe rises but his header appears to come off Jaime but it is a goal kick.
    • 63' Ronaldo takes a heavy touch, tempting Pérez into the challenge but Ronaldo gets there first and that’s a free-kick and a yellow card.
    • 62' The hosts retaining the ball well now and Modric is dictating things in the middle of midfield.
    • 61' Ronaldo works all the way back with Rukavina and makes a decent challenge and it looks like the ball came back off the right-back but the referee gives a corner. Ronaldo is aghast and will be unlikely to work back again.
    • 59' The hosts pressing with quite some intent thus far.
    • 58' Coentrão shows nice sleight of foot and a decent turn of pace before lifting a ball to Ronaldo at the far post. While Ronaldo does incredibly well to rise and hang in the air, his header is wide.
    • 57' Modric wins a free-kick and he has been bright.
    • 56' Bueno, who once played for Derby, is straight into the action and he plays a decent ball out wide but Ebert’s cross is cleared by Carvalho.
    • 54' Omar, who has been bright but on a yellow, is off for Bueno.
    • 52' The visitors are preparing a substitution as they look to get back into this one.
    • 51' Coentrão charges down a shot from Omar but the assistant referee gives a goal-kick. Poor decision.
    • 50' Benzema is looking bright now and their movement is exceptional. The French international looks to exchange passes with Ronaldo but the return is slightly over-hit and the chance has gone.
    • 49' GOAAAAL!! Kaka gives the hosts the lead and there is an air of fortune to it. Benzema runs with the ball and looks for Modric but it comes to Kaka in the box and, while Jaime gets a hand to it, it flies into the roof of the net.
    • 48' Khedira fails to adequately get over the volley as a ball contested by Benzema falls to the German. Modric then strikes from distance but it is saved.
    • 48' Rubio looks for Javi Guerra early in the second half but Carvalho intervenes to bring the move to an end.
    • 47' No personnel changes from either side.
    • 46' And we're off in the second half.
    • 45+1 That's it from the first half - what a great first-half.
    • 45' Diego López has to come out to bunch a Ebert corner out for a throw – a beaut of a delivery. The hosts break and Di Maria whips a ball to the far post and Jaime punches clear.
    • 44' Khedira in the book now for a late challenge.
    • 43' What a strike from Ronaldo. What a strike. The ball dips and swerves but comes back off the bar.
    • 42' Kaka with a lovely piece of control to draw a free-kick from Rubio in Ronaldo territory.
    • 41' Diego López has to come to punch clear a deep free-kick as the visitors finish in the ascendancy.
    • 40' It is striking the way Valladolid use the width of the pitch – this time Carvalho has to head over his own bar following a deep cross from Omar with Javi Guerra lurking at the far post.
    • 39' This a breathless encounter.
    • 38' Omar in the book for a late challenge on Modric having over-run the ball.
    • 36' Benzema collects the ball on the edge of the Valladolid box before coming back on himself and then firing a well-struck shot at Jaime.
    • 35' Benzema with a disallowed goal now – he looks like he was on as well. Flicked on corner but it is ruled out.
    • 34' GOOOAL!! A great switch of play finds Omar in the left channel and he crosses across the face of Diego López and Javi Guerra taps in at the far post. Great game. 2-2.
    • - The goal from Di Maria has been given as an own goal now. Valiente credited with it.
    • 32' GOOOAL!! The corner is cleared but then worked back to Di Maria, who whips the ball back in and Ronaldo rises to head his side into the lead.
    • 31' Modric, who has been given more of a chance in recent weeks, has looked bright and he again probes but his through-ball is cut out for a corner.
    • 30' This game has exploded into life.
    • 29' The kick deflects off the wall and Jaime looks on as the ball flies just wide. Pepe slams a header on target from the corner and Jaime makes the save.
    • 28' Ronaldo now has a free-kick from 20 yards or so out.
    • 27' That’s harsh for the visitors as they have played very well.
    • 26' GOOOAL!! Di María buzzes in from the right, cuts inside and fires a shot on target. It looks easy for Jaime but Valiente sticks out a boot and directs the ball beyond the keeper.
    • 24' Ronaldo bursts into life as he skips past a couple of challenges before finding Kaka out right. The Brazilian comes in and warms the palms of Jaime from distance. That’s their first on target.
    • 23' Benzema very late in on Valiente there – studs showing, the lot and lucky not to get booked for that.
    • 22' The visitors will be very happy with this start, it goes without saying. Madrid, chided by conceding that goal, looked for an immediate riposte but have failed to create much since.
    • 21' Pepe comes across to cover his compatriot Carvalho as Valladolid look for Javi Guerra in behind.
    • 20' Modric is caught on the ball as the Valladolid players continue to put pressure on the ball.
    • 19' Mourinho is cutting a very unhappy figure on the bench and his demeanour appears to have transferred to his players as they continue to look laboured.
    • 18' Kaka, who this week said that he wants to remain at the Bernabeu next season, has been bright but this time he holds the ball a fraction too long and the visiting side clear.
    • 16' Madrid are creating more chances but Valladolid, with their admirable dedication to getting men forward, look more dangerous here.
    • 14' Omar this time is in space down the left but his cross is cleared – lots of men in the box there as they gallantly commit men forward.
    • 13' Kaka slaloms into the box evading flailing legs all around him but the ball just sits up as he strikes it and the effort flies over the bar.
    • 12' Modric beats a man on the edge, strides into the box and slides the ball across the box in a cross-cum-shot that ambles wide with no one gambling at the back post.
    • 11' Madrid are really pressing their visitors back. Kaka goes down under the challenge in the box but there’s nothing doing there – awful dive.
    • 10' Rukavina intervenes as Modric looks for Benzema in behind. Good defending there to follow the runner.
    • 9' Carvalho with the switch of play there. Dreadful decision to switch across the box.
    • 8' GOOOAL!!! 0-1. Incredible scenes. Poor from Real but Oscar makes them pay. Oscar reads a poor switch of play, gets to it before Coentrao and then slots it under Diego López.
    • 6' Valladolid only have one win in eight but are unbeaten in three – and still have a very outside chance of making the Europa League.
    • 5' Madrid need to ensure that they finish second remember so this game does have some importance to it and that's probably why coach Mourinho has made several changes.
    • 4' A lovely exchange of passing from Valladolid culminates in Oscar with the ball down the left but he takes a fraction too long to move the ball on again and the chance has gone.
    • 3' Real are knocking the ball around well in the opening exchanges.
    • 2' Valladolid, promoted last season, have made a decent fist of their first season back in the top flight.
    • 1' Real Madrid gets the game underway.
    • 19:55 With Real Valladolid relatively safe on 40 points and Madrid having conceded the title long ago, this game is a proverbial dead rubber but both sides have named strong-looking sides so this one could turn into one of those end-of-season humdingers.
