    • 90+4' And there's the whistle. Relief for South Africa as they finally find their scoring boots and get their first win of the competition to set progress to the next round in good stead.
    • 90+3' Bit of a delay as Majoro receives treatment after getting caught in that last exchange, but at 2-0 the result is a formality now anyway...
    • 90+2' Lama punches away a long ball which Majoro again is looking to get onto.
    • 90+1' Three minutes of added time to be played.
    • 90' Lightning counter almost gets Majoro a second, but he lifts a shot over the outrushing Lama - and over the bar by inches, too.
    • 89' Masiela clears an Angola free-kick off the line before Manucho can convert, saving the hosts a very tense finish!
    • 88' Ngcongca has a bit of a to-do with Amaro, which sees the right-back's hand accidentally brush the sub's face. Amaro hits the deck clutching his head with a clear delay. Pretty pathetic stuff.
    • 87' Manyisa bombs forward against the tired Angolan legs again but ignores chances to play a short ball and wait for a return in the area, he goes for goal and misses.
    • 86' Manucho heads another shot on target straight at Khune. This one was even more routine for the SA stopper.
    • 85' Amaro is the third Angola sub, on for Afonso.
    • 84' Good floated cross by Lunguinha from the right meets the head of Manucho! Well saved by Khune!
    • 82' Good spell of possession from Angola, who do look to be making a final sub shortly.
    • 81' Manyisa causes some problems but two defenders are enough to get the ball back for Angola.
    • 80' No sign of a third Angola sub yet, after all.
    • 78' Mphela's impressive shift is over. He makes way for Oupa Manyisa and that's all of SA's subs used up.
    • 77' Penetrating delivert from Gilberto which Khune flaps at, but gets a vital hand to which denies Pirolito the chance to head in from a yard at the far post!
    • 76' Gilberto goes for goal but it comes off Furman in the wall, going out for a corner.
    • 75' First, a promising free-kick position for Angola. Less than 30 yards from goal and right of centre.
    • 74' Some activity on the benches, could be seeing our final subs from each side soon.
    • 72' Mateus caught in possession allowing Mphela to cross for Majoro, whose effort is wide. The guest nation are again beside themselves that a foul on Mateus wasn't called.
    • 71' Manucho runs offside. That's the first time Angola have triggered the flag, to SA's five.
    • 70' It's been 10 fouls apiece between the two sides now, as the play slows down considerably from that end-to-end stuff which led to 2-0.
    • 68' Manucho clips Masilela but escapes a booking.
    • 67' Mateus sets Lunguinha free on the right but his ball into the box is easy for Khune to read and collect.
    • 66' Mphela looks to force an error from Bastos, the last man between he and his goalkeeper, but only gives away a foul.
    • 65' Angola's attempt to try the fightback starts with another change, bringing on 60-cap veteran Gilberto for Dede.
    • 64' Going to be a mountain for Angola to climb now.
    • 63' Quite the inspired sub by the hosts, when it had initially looked curious to bring off the lively Rantie.
    • 61' GOAL SOUTH AFRICA! That's the cushion they sought as Majoro bursts down the left on another breakaway, shakes off Afonso and nutmegs the keeper from an acute angle. Superb stuff. 2-0!
    • 60' Cleared and countered, but Djalma is bullied off the ball as he enters the area. Manucho was in a good position.
    • 59' Corner is headed away for a throw, from which SA win another corner thanks to good work from the sub Majoro.
    • 58' Another hosts change first, as Lehlohonolo Majoro is on for Rantie. Bit of a suprise switch as though he has scuppered a few chances, Rantie was certainly keeping the defenders busy.
    • 57' Great hounding by Rantie forces Massunguna to concede a corner. This one is actually given.
    • 56' Goalscorer Sangweni heads a cross from the right behind for what should be a corner, but is somehow ruled a goal kick. That's set off the Angola bench once again, and understandably so.
    • 55' Corner poses no danger and Angola will again come forward. End to end at the moment.
    • 54' Now it's SA's turn to stride forward. Great work by Mphela to hold up play and go backwards to set up Furman from 20 yards... pushed around the far post by Lama!
    • 53' Great pull-back by Mateus on the right for Guilherme! Saved by Khune from the unmarked Angolan! He was bang central and just 10 yards from goal, it was their best chance yet!
    • 51' Poor by his standards, and easily cleared.
    • 50' There has been seven fouls apiece between the two sides as we await Parker to take this free-kick out on the left wing.
    • 49' Silly lunge by Massunguna on Rantie earns the defender the first booking of the game.
    • 48' Rantie looks to take the ball into the Angolan box but is outnumbered by red shirts.
    • 47' Reneilwe Letsholonyane is on for Mahlangu, and just as the game kicked off Angola's staff were furious as they had a sub prepped at the same time who wasn't formally allowed on, leaving them down to 10! It was Campos Djalma coming on for Da Costa, which has now also been sorted.
    • 46' South Africa have made a half-time sub and have kicked off the second 45. Just going to get verification of the sub for you...

    • 45+1' And there's the whistle. A changed and much improved South Africa hold a slender lead at the interval thanks to Sangweni's lovely finish on the half hour, but there's every opportunity in the second 45 for Angola to make SA regret not taking those extra chances.
    • 45' Just the one minute added onto the first half.
    • 44' Mahlangu's cross is weakly fisted by Lama! Rantie tries to head into the open goal but can't bring it down! He's wasted a few chances so far.
    • 43' Parker now with a half-chance for the hosts but it's easily held low by Lama.
    • 42' Big chance for Angola! Manucho does well to head a deep centre across goal, but Mateus can't keep the volley down!
    • 40' SA attack again directly, but Mphela's through pass for Rantie is cut out.
    • 39' Manucho almost gets onto a long ball forward which catches most of the host nation out. Khune comes out just at the right time to head clear before he can capitalise.
    • 37' A heavy touch from Dede gives South Africa another, very cheap, corner.
    • 36' Angola again struggle to find the right final ball a couple of times as they build more possession, and on the break Mahlangu bursts forward and shoots wide.
    • 35' Parker crosses the corner for the run of Khumalo at the near post, but the header is wide.
    • 34' Phala absolutely torments Miguel on the right until Da Costa comes in to slide the ball out for a corner.
    • 33' And almost a nightmare for Angola at the other end as a defensive mix-up almost allows Mphela in. Lama out to rescue the situation.
    • 32' Almost a chance for Manucho! Not convincing defending from the throw but the ball pinballs wide off the striker.
    • 31' Great slide challenge from Masiela on fellow #3 Lunguinha to stop Angola attacking right from the re-start.
    • 30' GOAL SOUTH AFRICA! The Parker free-kick isn't cleared properly and falls for Sangweni, with a superb volleyed finish across Lama for the first goal in Group A. And what a finish from a defender! 1-0!
    • 29' Massunguna fouls Rantie and another SA free-kick coming up.
    • 28' But here's a promising counter from Angola, which ends when Lunguinha is caught in possession on the right.
    • 27' Some good interceptions are the only thing at the moment stopping Angola from drowning in a sea of slick South African short passing.
    • 25' There's a faint wave of vuvuzelas in the background here. Remember those?
    • 24' Rantie has the pace on the left to beat Bastos, but good recovery from the defender to slide in and block the cross.
    • 23' Now a counter from the hosts sees Mphela return a one-two to Rantie, who fluffs the shot at a tight angle well over the bar.
    • 22' Manucho looks to keep South Africa busy and perhaps create an opening for himself as the ball goes backwards, but the defenders work well together to play their way out of trouble.
    • 21' Bastos overpowers Mahlangu on the right to allow a goal kick for his nation.
    • 20' Angola have been their own worst enemies so far and have allowed South Africa to really get their tails up so far. Not too late to fix up, with the score still 0-0.
    • 18' More South African pressure as the Angolan defence fails to read a ball in from the left, leaving Mphela to stab the ball against an outrushing Lama for the save.
    • 17' Now Rantie hammers a shot across goal which he says should be a corner from a deflection, but nothing doing.
    • 16' A deflected ball lands at the feet of Rantie six yards from goal with his back to the keeper, but the offside flag goes up.
    • 15' Mphela gets away with a nudge on Massunguna to take possession at the left-hand byline but his cross is cleared.
    • 14' Angola are doing a good job of keeping this growing wave of South African confidence at bay when it counts, but are sloppy to invite more pressure each time.
    • 13' Initial delivery is cleared before Furman tees up Mphela for a 15-yard drive which is well closed down by Pirolito.
    • 12' Good play from South Africa on the right wins them the game's first corner.
    • 11' Wasteful stuff this time as it's taken quickly down the right flank for Furman to latch onto, but it's overhit and out for a goal kick.
    • 10' Another free-kick for the hosts. Good spell of territory coming from the sloppy Angola defending.
    • 9' Another South Africa free-kick. Great delivery from Parker this time meets the head of Khumalo... can't guide it towards goal! And Rantie was lurking there had his captain not deflected it away from him at the far post!
    • 8' Mphela uses his strength to find space just outside the Angolan area, but despite having wide opens he goes immediately for goal and it's at least a full goal's length wide. Just got carried away there after doing so well.
    • 6' Massunguna is needlessly sent to the ground by Phala, which ends the spell of South African pressure.
    • 5' Parker delivers it into the box, where Mphela heads harmlessly over.
    • 4' Now the hosts can have a crack at their first effort on goal with a free-kick 30 yards from goal.
    • 3' The first chance comes to Angola, as Mateus strides forward and drags a shot wide of the near post.
    • 2' Tentative start from both sides, neither will want to make any early mistakes with the group anyone's for the taking still.
    • 1' Angola kick off the first half, here we go!

  5. Being the host nation, Bafana, Bafana needs to have a positive result out of their second game. Surely the crowd would be behind the team as usual but the Angolans are not to be under-estimated. It would be an open game of football in which both teams would seize any opportunity presented.
