It's the dream of many sports fans to have a pair of personalised Air Jordans made up in their honour but, well, everyone's tastes are different.
So when world-famous rapper Macklemore was given the privilege of helping design his own unique pair of trainers with the legendary basketball player Michael Jordan, he thought he'd won the lottery.
Before performing at the Jordan Brand Classic, Macklemore, whose real name is Ben Haggerty, debuted the new shoes that were the result of his collaboration with Nike's Jordan Brand.
The 30-year-old hit machine, who boasts, two Grammys and a platinum record, proudly unveiled his 'Northwest King Salmon' sneakers, only to see, to his horror, that the reception was far from positive.
"I'm proud to announce the unveiling of my "Northwest King Salmon" Melo's. Courtesy of @jumpman23 and myself. Never dreamed I'd have an opportunity like this. Huge shout out to @pdxreg and the whole fam. #sharkfacegangFollow"
Fans were quick to round on the star's fashion taste, slamming the trainers to his embarrassment.
It did not take long at all for his fans - or, well, critics? - to round on him for the trainers.
Macklemore designed a pair of Jordans and i've never seen an uglier pair of shoes in my life

I like Macklemore, but he isn't doing himself any favors with those Jordans

These Macklemore Jordans look like someone put a pair of 9's and Sketchers in a Nutribullet. — Prim Reaper (@kraaawse) April 22, 2014
If you are interested, this is what the trainers look like on an infant, who clearly did not particularly like them either.
Still, despite the reaction, Macklemore can at least content himself with the knowledge that he has teamed up with the great Jordan and received his very own pair of - horrid salmon coloured - trainers.
