What would you do with an Olympic medal, if you were ever lucky enough to win one?

But one Paralympic hero from Sochi has come up with a completely novel use for one of the three medals he won at the Winter Olympics.
Vincent Gauthier-Manuel has decided to melt down part of a silver medal - having also won a gold and bronze for skiing in Russia - to make an engagement ring for his wife.
This story, reported by American Olympic broadcaster NBC, has captured the imagination and is a beautiful gesture of love to the woman Gauthier-Manuel plans to marry in 2016.
And, unsurprisingly, it's being well-received...
