Football bad boy Joey Barton has been burgled while at his son's first birthday party.
The QPR star, who is currently on a season-long loan at Marseille, was targeted by thieves while staying at the parents of long-term partner Georgia McNeil while back in Britain for Christmas.
Barton and his family were out of the house celebrating little Cassius's birthday, a zoo-themed celebration at a venue 15 minutes away from the home in West Derby from where the 30-year-old Tweeted several pictures (including the one above of the birthday cake).
At the same time intruders smashed their way into the house through its windows, according to a report in The Sun, with the paper claiming that thieves knew the house was empty due to the player's Tweets.
Thieves reportedly smashed toys and furniture whilst rifling through the McNeils' house looking for cash and jewellery. The burglars reportedly got away with the family safe.
"Joey had been staying over Christmas and it’s likely the thieves knew he was there," a source told The Sun.
"He was tweeting pictures from the party while the robbery was in progress. They couldn’t believe the state of the place when they got home."
